Overview
A multiseat contract is a contract that allow multiple users to access the same subscription. A multiseat contract always has a set number of seats, they are displayed at the top of the contract.
Change the number of seats
The number of seats determine how many users can be added to a contract. This number can be changed on a contract using the "Change quantity and price" setting.
There are two ways of adjusting the number of seats for a contract, either you change the Quantity. This will (quantity * nr of seats on the product).
This is used when a product is defined as "include 5 seats", changing the quantity to two would then add 5 additional seats to the contract.
Changing the quantity will update the "Total seats" counter to display the new total.
Changes to quantity will also update the price on the contract to match the new count.
Override
You can also use the override checkbox to manually specify the number of seats without changing the quantity. This is useful when you just want to adjust the seat number and not the price or you want to use a custom price rather than the one used as default.
Special Price
Use the "Add special product price for this contract" to set a custom price that is different from the list price. The total price of the contract will still be calculated as quantity x special price.
So if you are adding a large number of seats to a contract with a special price it can be easiest to set the quantity to 1, override the seats and set the full price that the customer should pay in the special price override.
Adding and removing users
Users can be added and removed from the existing seats, users are added by their email address.
To manage the users, click on the "Manage seats" button on the contract view.
Adding users by email
Users can be manually added by entering their email in the top input field on the manage page.
Manage existing users
You can search the list by name, email or user id. Existing users can be viewed and removed in the list below it.
Export users as csv
The list can also be exported as a csv file by using the button on the top right of the list.
Auto onboarding
Another way to add users to a multiseat is by what we call auto onboarding. This means that you can add one or more domains to the contract "ex, sesamy.com" and any users that log in with an email with that domain "[email protected]" will automatically be added to the multiseat.
