If you're considering a price change for your subscription product, Sesamy offers two ways to do it—depending on whether you want the update to apply only to new subscribers or also to those already subscribed.

All price changes must be requested through Sesamy Support. We’ll guide you through the process and handle the technical steps.

1. Changing the price for new subscribers only

This option lets you update the price that will be shown to and charged for any new subscriptions going forward. Existing subscribers will continue paying their current price.

This approach is useful if, for example:

  • You’re adjusting pricing based on market demand or inflation

  • You want to test a new pricing tier for future customers

There is no requirement to notify your current subscribers if their pricing remains unchanged.

How to proceed:

Contact Sesamy Support and let us know:

  • The new price (including any VAT, if applicable)

  • The product or subscription you want it applied to

  • When you’d like the change to go live

2. Changing the price for existing subscribers

If you want to update the price for subscribers who are already active, Sesamy will need to manage this on your behalf. This includes:

  • Updating the recurring billing amount

  • Ensuring subscriber data and invoice history are preserved

You can choose to update:

  • All subscribers, or

  • A specific segment, such as:

    • Only yearly subscribers

    • Only subscribers who joined before or after a specific date

    • Subscribers on a certain plan or pricing tier

Cost and limitations:

  • Each publisher is entitled to one free price change per year for existing subscribers

  • Additional changes are billed at an hourly rate, based on scope and complexity

  • We’ll inform you of the expected cost before any work begins

🔔 Important:
To comply with card network rules (Visa and Mastercard), you are required to notify your subscribers in writing at least 7 days in advance, and no more than 30 days before the price change takes effect. This can be done via email, and we recommend including:

  • The new price

  • The date the change will happen

  • Instructions on how to cancel or contact support if they don’t accept the new terms

Requesting a price change

To initiate any kind of price change, please contact Sesamy Support with the following:

  • Your new pricing details

  • Which group of subscribers should it apply to (new, all, or a segment)

  • Your desired effective date

  • Any additional notes about how you want the change communicated to your customers (we can advise on this as well)

We’ll review your request, provide a timeline, and confirm next steps. To ensure everything is completed on time, please reach out at least 2–3 weeks before your intended go-live date.
